Bichons and Buddies 5K Run/Walk

I've dedicated my life to saving precious lives and need your support to continue my mission
It's hard to believe I've been rescuing dogs since 2000 - almost 2 decades. And I can't envision myself every stopping, because unfortunately, I don't think the need will ever go away. This year has been particularly challenging as my focus has been to do whatever I could to save the older dogs which often are discarded by their owners like an old pair of shoes. These poor dogs cower in the corner of a concrete cell heart-broken, scared and confused. More often than not they are euthanized because there are few people that want to adopt an older dog.
I've been very fortunate to form affiliations with two Canadian rescue groups who not only will take seniors, but who manage to find wonderful homes for them fairly quickly! It's been incredibly fulfilling to see the transformation of these sweet angels once they are rescued and given the love and care they deserve. Of course with that comes a larger vet bill than for a young dog.
In addition to taking on more seniors, we save many that have serious injuries and medical issues. Our vet bills have exponentially increased and we are in dire financial need to continue into the upcoming year.
Please don't force us to turn our back on the ones who need us most. We cannot do it without your support. Be the difference in a dog's life.
Lucy was one of my first major medical rescues - she endured an amputation of a front let and removal of one of her kidneys. She was adopted to a wonderful couple who subsequently became close friends of ours.
